Napoleonic Naval

Steve's Fench: 2 squadrons each 1 1st rate & 3 3rd rate with regular crews.
Mikes' Brits: 2 squadrons each 1 2nd rate, 2 3rd rates & 1 4th rate with veteran crews.
Rules:  Men o' War house rules. Ships: 3D printed.

The two fleets sight each other both in 2 columns.  The wind is across the table from the far side.  The French are the closer fleeet
The rest of the pics are taken from Windward with the French moving to the right.
Both fleets begin sorting themselves into a single line as they sail towards the enemy.
The French open fire at long range but the Brits hold their fire.
The French have for once got their line into shape better than the British.
The 1st British squadron was rather mishandled & has allowed the French to get past out of range.
The 2nd British squadron is sailing Nelson fashion at the enemy line unsupported.
The lead British ship suffered heavy damage & has sheered away leaving just 3 ships to break thru he French line.
The French suffered a lot of damage as the British broke thru firing raking shots double shotted, but the three British ships were also badly damaged having taken on the whole French fleet unsupported.
The tail of the French fleet has been badly damaged, but none of the ships have serious rigging damage so the Fleet sails on.  The 2nd British squadron is so badly damaged it has turned away while the 1st British squardon, which has not fired a shot, is unable to catch them.

The Times reported a great British Victory declaring the French ran away from the might of the Royal Navy.  The Bulletin reported a remarkable French victory with a whole British squadron forced to break off the action so badly damaged they were later lost at sea while all French ships made it back to port.
